Taking care of yourself comes in many different forms. After the long two years we’ve all had, something you should include on your list of things to do is to get away for a long weekend.

Helen, GA
Helen is the coolest city in Georgia that you’ve probably never heard of. This Alpine-style village is like a smaller and less touristy Gatlinburg that has everything you need for fun and relaxation at your fingertips. For a cool drink on a warm day, King Ludwig’s Biergarten can’t be beaten. Hungry? You can’t walk more than 30 feet without being tempted by Bavarian and other culinary delights.
The biggest benefit of Helen, whether you’re visiting or plan to eventually relocate to the mountains, is that there is a noticeably slower pace. Plan to stay nearby in Clarksville (our top pick is Glen Ella Springs Inn & Restaurant) if you want to avoid the crowds at night.
Knoxville, TN
About three hours east of Nashville you’ll find the home of the Big Orange. Glasgow, KY
Just north of the Tennessee-Kentucky state line is the sleepy town of Glasgow. As you might expect in a city named after one of the oldest towns in Scotland, Glasgow is home to the Glasgow Highland Games, which are held each summer at the Barren River Lake State Resort Park. Self-care is still crucial as we work to keep ourselves healthy both in mind and body.

Get Off the Couch
If you haven’t yet, it’s time to start exercising in order to keep yourself healthy. And if you’re still not ready to return to the gym, you can work out at home.

It’s more important to focus on the quality of your exercises, so keep your routine flexible.
Consider making use of free online exercise classes to keep yourself guided and motivated, and to add variation to your workout routine.
Exercise is an excellent way to relieve stress. People who work from home could particularly benefit from the mental health benefits a workout can provide.
